Project Overview

"Deepfake Teknolojisi & Ekonomik Etkileri" (Deepfake Technology & Economic Effects) is a student presentation exploring the rise, risks, and economic impact of deepfake technology.

Challenge

Make an academic presentation on a technical subject genuinely stand out — visually and conceptually — rather than following the typical slide-deck format. The concept needed a distinctive visual identity strong enough to hold attention across 18+ slides of dense technical content.

Outcome

The presentation stood out sharply from typical academic slide decks — its unconventional visual concept turned a technical topic into a memorable, editorial-style visual narrative, while still clearly communicating complex data and case studies throughout.

/ Concept
The presentation's visual identity was built on an unexpected juxtaposition: post-Soviet, USSR-era atmosphere merged with recognizable American pop-culture faces — deepfaked celebrities placed into gritty, Eastern Bloc-style residential settings (concrete apartment blocks, grainy film tones, CCCP imagery). This visual contradiction directly mirrors the subject matter itself — deepfakes blur reality and identity — while also nodding to the desolate, atmospheric "chthonic" quality often associated with Northern/Eastern European landscapes: overcast skies, brutalist architecture, and a muted, melancholic color palette running throughout every slide.

Each section — from "Deepfake Nedir?" (What is Deepfake?) to case studies like the Hong Kong deepfake-call incident and the fake Joe Biden robocalls — was paired with a staged, cinematic visual built on this concept, turning technical/economic content into something closer to a visual essay.

/ Presentation Design
Designed a full 18+ slide presentation covering deepfake technology's origins, economic impact, real-world case studies (Hong Kong deepfake-call, Fake Joe Biden robocalls, Synthesia), market statistics, and ethical/political risks — with a consistent, cinematic art direction built around the post-Soviet/pop-culture juxtaposition concept.
